In the previous section we covered 'Spring Cloud Microservices Beginner Tutorial (2): Service Registration and Discovery — Eureka,' which set up the microservices registry and discovery center. This section explains how to create a new microservice and register it with the registry.
When we use IDEA to DEBUG code, the console often prints something like: 'Connected to the target VM, address: 127.0.0.1:62981, transport: socket'. So even if the code doesn't run locally, as long as the JVM has debug mode on and the network can connect to the JVM via socket, the Debug protocol over Socket communication can pass debug commands and debug info.
This section starts from scratch: we create a new Maven multi-module project and complete a basic demo of Spring Cloud Eureka-based service registration and discovery. The demo uses the IntelliJ IDEA development environment. Create a new Maven project in IntelliJ IDEA with JDK 1.8. I prefer manual operations, so first create an empty Maven project with groupId net.renfei, artifactId cloud, and version 1.0.0.
My personal blog site has always stuck to one major update per year, but this time I decided not to update it, because the next update would mean adopting microservices. Locally the file reads fine, but once packaged as a JAR and uploaded to the server it can't be fetched; the error is: class path resource [xxxx] cannot be resolved to absolute file path because it does not reside in the file system: jar:file:xxxx.jar!/BOOT-INF/classes!xxxx. Enough talk — here's the correct way: use PathMatchingResourcePatternResolver.

Lambda expressions are the most important new feature driving the Java 8 release. They let you pass a function as a parameter to a method (a function passed into a method). So you must upgrade to JDK 8 or above to use Lambda expressions; if you're on JDK 7, you're out of luck.
Lombok is a third-party Java library. In projects we often define lots of JavaBeans as entity classes, then use IDE shortcuts to generate getter/setter/toString/equals methods — the code looks huge, and worse, renaming requires batch replacement that can go wrong. Lombok can generate that complex yet low-level code at compile time.
This doc uses Spring Boot. For plain Spring you'd also configure the interceptor in the MyBatis config XML. PageHelper is for MyBatis; MyBatis integration isn't covered here, so integrate MyBatis first.
