The Google Chrome team sent an email to Linux distribution developers: starting March 15, 2021, Chromium derivatives will no longer be able to use Google APIs such as Google Sync. For the sake of user account security, Google is cutting off third-party access to its APIs.
At the end of 2020 CentOS announced it would end support at the end of 2021, which sent shockwaves everywhere. Developers and users alike rejected it — even CentOS's founder started the Rocky Linux project that same month to build the next CentOS. Now, in year nine, it's here: encrypted transmission and storage of passwords, SMS login, TOTP two-factor authentication, login/logout sync with the PHP Discuz forum, automatic lockout on password brute force, and Google's page-behavior bot detection.
I connected my Spring Boot main site with a Discuz! forum so login and logout are synchronized, and member data from Discuz! can be shown back on my site. I also modified the previously open-sourced discuz-ucenter-api-for-java to fit the way Spring Boot is written today.
