Today Google officially released Chrome 88. The new version permanently drops support for Adobe Flash Player and FTP. Google also announced new password protection features for Chrome 88.
Google says one new feature identifies weak passwords for users and supports replacing them with strong ones. After receiving the Chrome 88 update, users can check password strength simply by clicking the key icon below their profile picture. Alternatively, users can jump straight to that settings area by typing chrome://settings/passwords in the address bar.
Chrome 88 also lets users update multiple usernames and passwords in one place. Users can manage and update saved passwords in Chrome’s settings on desktop and iOS, and this capability is coming to Android later.
These updates will reach Chrome users over the coming weeks. Google promises more password features later this year.
