Recently, the Baidu Webmaster Platform (Baidu Search Resources Platform) updated and revamped, adding Quick Inclusion; the original URL submission became Normal Inclusion, and the original URL submission feature removed manual submission, meaning webmasters need coding knowledge to integrate Baidu Webmaster Platform’s API to submit. But in my view, this newly added Quick Inclusion is just the previous Bear Palm (Xiongzhang) submission interface.
Quick Inclusion
- Quick Inclusion is limited to submitting mobile pages and mobile-adaptive pages.
- The Quick Inclusion tool can actively push resources to Baidu Search, shortening the time for the crawler to discover site links. For high-timeliness content, the Quick Inclusion tool is recommended to push resources to search in real time.
- Resources that don’t meet mobile-resource standards still consume quota; please choose the submission type carefully. To judge whether a site meets mobile-experience standards, refer to the “Baidu Search Quality Content Guide” and the “Baidu App Mobile Search Landing Page Experience Whitepaper 5.0”.
- If the site has passed HTTPS authentication as an HTTPS site, please ensure the protocol header of submitted links is HTTPS.
There are two submission methods: manual submission and API submission. The API submission only adds one parameter over the original submission interface: type=daily. The submittable quota is intelligently evaluated based on last week’s overall quota usage and the site’s final inclusion, producing a new quota. A displayed quota of 0 can be inherited from previously inherited Bear Palm (Xiongzhang) benefits.
Normal Inclusion
- The Normal Inclusion tool can actively push resources to Baidu Search, shortening the time for the crawler to discover site links, but doesn’t guarantee inclusion effect.
- Through the Normal Inclusion interface, up to 5 million valuable items can be submitted per day. Submitted content enters Baidu Search’s unified management; please wait patiently.
- Only content under sites that have associated a subject can be submitted, otherwise submission fails; quota can’t be accumulated and is valid only for the day.
- If a link has a jump relationship, submit the post-jump link directly. If the site changes domain, submit new-domain resources; for HTTPS-remodeled pages, submit HTTPS resources.
Normal Inclusion is the previous URL submission, but it removed the manual-submission option and only provides three methods: API interface, JS-code auto-push, and sitemap file. That is to say, to push to Baidu in real time, webmasters must know code to integrate Baidu’s API push interface.
Summary
In my view, the newly added “Quick Inclusion” is the previous Bear Palm (Xiongzhang) submission, corresponding to Baidu mobile; the current “Normal Inclusion” corresponds to Baidu PC. But Baidu tinkers too much — first MIP, then Bear Palm (Xiongzhang), and now that Bear Palm is gone it’s doing mini-programs, so don’t pay too much attention. Just keep updating your own content. Baidu changes back and forth; who knows, maybe one day it’ll shut down this Quick Inclusion too. But from current forum user feedback, this new Quick Inclusion is still somewhat useful.
