Last week Alibaba Cloud announced a product update: it has joined the Cloudflare Bandwidth Alliance, offering Alibaba Cloud users highly competitive storage pricing — including free traffic from Cloudflare CDN back to OSS origin.

The Cloudflare Bandwidth Alliance is a group of cloud computing and networking companies committed to reducing or eliminating data transfer (bandwidth) costs for their shared customers. All members are Cloudflare partners.

My Take
Cloudflare still has no operating license in mainland China, and although it partnered with Baidu Cloud Acceleration domestically they seem to operate separately. So this bandwidth alliance benefit is out of reach for users inside China — only people using services outside mainland China can enjoy free Cloudflare CDN to OSS origin traffic.
