A few days ago I applied for Google AdSense and was rejected, because of “copyrighted material” — meaning some content on my site might infringe others’ copyrights. That also raised my awareness of copyright protection. After checking, I removed a Visual Studio 2012 download link and deleted several reposted articles, then applied again, and this time it passed. I also want to remind other webmasters: copying others’ articles is not a long-term plan. Google’s technology is already very powerful — don’t count on getting lucky. I’ve seen the power of the Google crawler: it crawls almost all of my content. At the same time, the crawler likes new things; if every time it comes it finds your stuff is already a big pile in its database, all pretty much the same, it’ll gradually go cold on you, and you’ll regret it too late. Run your own site well, write your own stories, and make your site stand out!
