Yesterday GitHub suffered a large-scale outage. Microsoft responded that, due to the pandemic, servers in various regions had been stolen. Microsoft also said it is doing everything it can to recover the servers and hopes to retrieve the servers and data as soon as possible.
I was using GitHub around 3:40 PM on 2020-07-14 when I suddenly found the whole site returning 500 error pages. Other users later confirmed GitHub had a large-scale outage. Below are screenshots of my page at the time:
According to Weibo user @shijin1, Microsoft replied by email, saying that due to the pandemic, servers in various regions had been stolen. Microsoft also said it is doing everything it can to recover the servers and hopes to retrieve the servers and data as soon as possible.
