Enabling File and Network Discovery Services on Windows Server

First, in Server Manager, under Configuration → Services, enable the following three services: 1. Function Discovery Resource Publication Publishes this computer and the resources connected to it so they can be discovered on the network. If this service is stopped, network resources will no longer be published and other computers on the network will not be able to discover them. This service is Manual by default and in the started state, so we don’t need to change the startup type — just click Start! 2. SSDP Discovery Discovers networked devices and services that use the SSDP protocol, such as UPnP devices, and also reports UPnP devices and services running on the local computer. If this service is stopped, devices based on SSDP will not be discovered. If this service is disabled, any service that depends on it cannot start normally. This service is disabled by default. Change the startup type to Manual or Automatic, then start it! 3. UPnP Device Host Allows UPnP devices to be hosted on this computer. If this service is stopped, all hosted UPnP devices will stop working and no other host devices can be added. If this service is disabled, any service that explicitly depends on it will not be able to start. This service is the same as SSDP Discovery! Then, in Control Panel → User Accounts, manage other accounts and enable the Guest account. In Control Panel → Network and Sharing Center → View network computers and devices. After entering, you’ll be prompted whether to enable sharing and network discovery. Click enable, and then the network will be accessible! 4. Add Remote Desktop. In Server Manager → Configuration → Local Users and Groups → Groups, the default is Administrator (you can also change the name) In the main Server Manager page → Configure Remote Desktop → User Management, add the user Administrator or the username you changed
