Today is the 27th day since Yufei Space went online. Although it hasn’t passed Baidu’s review period yet — Baidu only has Yufei Space’s homepage — Google, 360 Search, Bing, Sogou, and Yahoo have all indexed it. And then someone actually tried to hack the site. Here is today’s website defense statistics:

My little personal blog, a tiny site among tiny sites, has only been online 27 days, yet gets 100 to 200 penetration attacks every day. You can see website security is a serious problem nowadays.
Why do they want to hack it? Nothing more than planting hidden links. My blog strictly controls the number of outbound links, so even if planted, it would be noticed. Then there’s planting trojans — adding a malicious script to steal visitors’ information. Dear, my footer security badge isn’t there for nothing; I regularly check whether the site is hacked, and my site is backed up regularly. Even if there’s a trojan, it would be found. Even if you’re a super expert and I can’t find your tampered code, I can still restore my site from backup. So don’t waste your time.
There are always those who want something for nothing. Sigh. Also a reminder to other webmasters: take website security seriously. It’s not just being responsible for yourself, but also for your users. If a page is planted with a trojan, it threatens visitors’ safety. Once your site is reported, you’ll be blocked by many security vendors or ad networks. So, value website security.
