Happy New Year. To give red packets to netizens, our site automatically published Alipay red packet codes at 00:00, 12:00, 18:00, and 21:00 on February 19, 2015 (Lunar calendar: Yiwei year, first day of the first month). Now that the event ended, here is a statistics summary. 
Because this idea came up on the spur of the moment, preparation was rushed; I started on the 29th (eve) and uploaded the red packet guide homepage and published the red packet page on New Year’s Eve. Let’s look at the data:

From the data above, on New Year’s Eve people just learned the news and would refresh the page causing high PV, because the red packet code wouldn’t appear until the time. On the first day, you could get the code just by visiting, publishing the red packet code four times in segments, so PV was 2-3 times IP, but there are still some problems.
Problem 1: Abnormal claiming of red packets
Speaking of this, you may have noticed the statistics show four red packets were abnormally claimed. What’s “abnormal”? The red packets were pre-generated codes displayed on the web page at the time, but before the code was displayed, some people already claimed them. I checked online; others have this phenomenon too. Actually this is a vulnerability in Alipay’s red packet passcode. The red packet code is 8 digits; by permutation there are about 1 billion passcodes, but Alipay has several hundred million users, each may generate several red packets, so 1 billion passcodes aren’t enough. If you enter wrong digits or multiple Alipay accounts guess-collide, it’s easy to hit a red packet. Once hit, you can tell friends to claim it, causing more to be claimed by strangers.
Problem 2: Rushed preparation, insufficient early promotion
We wrapped 400 red packets, 50 yuan; under free distribution, only 131 were claimed, 7.8 yuan; most were unclaimed, because preparation was rushed and launched in a hurry, and promotion was only on nearby QQ Zones and a few QQ groups, so many people didn’t know my site could give free red packets.
