In recent days, my site canceled several websites’ friendly links at once — the first large-scale cleanup of friendly links. The main problems with the canceled friendly-link sites:
- Long time without updates; snapshots stuck half a year ago, even a year ago. As a website, not updating is no different from being dead.
- Due to database loss and other issues, the site restored to initial state; large numbers of pages return 404 errors; all content lost.
- The site was attacked and planted with black links and illegal links, left unhandled for a long time (the blogger gave your site time to fix and clean up).

First, my visitors go to your site via the friendly link and are greeted with gambling links, which affects visitors’ impression of me. Second, search engine algorithms associate these hyperlinks; if you have many gambling site links, the search engine may consider you an entry point for gambling sites. Whether they’ll penalize you, I dare not say, but long-term it won’t be good. Then, about sites not updated for a long time — snapshots half a year old, some inner pages even a year old. As a website, always not updating — what do visitors look at? If you were a search engine, you’d also like new things, right? Search engines don’t come to your site, and they bring me no spiders; are friendly links still useful? Here the blogger also hopes friends who care about their sites come exchange links; if you’re just playing around without the passion or enthusiasm to maintain a site, forget it. Building a site is easy, but Ops is not — please cherish it.
