Neil is a Microsoft fan and supporter; naturally his phone uses Windows Phone. My environment is Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8, and the phone is a NOLIA Lumia 520 — fairly cheap, haha, but it’s also a genuine Microsoft system. Recently I wanted to listen to some music on the phone, but ran into a problem when copying music: whether using the sync program or copying directly in Explorer, the music showed up twice on the phone. Deleting either one also deleted the other — listening to a song twice. To solve this problem, I even went to Microsoft to check; indeed many users had this problem, and Microsoft didn’t know why either, giving no solution.
I read many tutorials online but still couldn’t solve it. In the end, I stumbled on the fix.
The earlier error happened when copying to the phone storage. Later, I set it on the phone: phone storage, changed the storage location for music, video, and pictures all to the SD card. I used the desktop sync program, deleted the original songs, also deleted them cleanly on the phone, synced again, and after completion the songs on the phone were no longer duplicated, and there was no garbled text — back to normal.
I think the cause of the error is indeed a bug: when copying to phone storage, the speed is super fast, but of course it ends up wrong in the end. With the SD card, copying is slower. I think Microsoft must have used some technology to speed up transfer when copying, but this technology caused errors during phone transfer. Switching to the SD card doesn’t apply this technology, so it works normally. This is just my guess, for reference only.
