Yesterday I upgraded to Windows 8.1, and the browser was also upgraded to IE11, but then problems came. My other browsers — Google Chrome, Firefox, 360 Browser — all stopped working, showing unknown errors and unable to find the site. Only IE11 worked. But when I went to Alipay, another problem: the security plugin wouldn’t install.
IE11 disguises itself as Firefox. Alipay recognizes it as Firefox too. As soon as you run the plugin, Alipay won’t open, and you have to restore the browser settings.
But I also found a substitute: I found that when no other browser worked, the Baidu Video Browser did work.
What a regret. IE11 has big changes, but right now nothing works — it’s too new, and sites aren’t ready yet. I contacted Alipay; they haven’t developed anything for IE11 yet. I suggest you don’t rush to upgrade to Windows 8.1; wait a bit longer until everyone is prepared, then upgrade.
