Shijiazhuang today: high of 36 degrees, blazing sun. Ugh, I don’t want to go out, and the filing needs photos too. This is torture.
China’s bureaucracy is famously tedious. I already have a filing entity — I’ve filed before — so why can’t I just reuse the old information? No, everything has to be redone from scratch. So annoying.
Once the filing comes through, it’s endless SEO work: publish original content every day, fight for that pitiful trickle of traffic. Being a grassroots webmaster is hard. I don’t want to be bothered by all this; I just want to focus on computing. But no — if you don’t follow the rules they won’t let you run a site, and servers overseas are too slow and make things like ad applications difficult later. Frustrating.
And PE still has a 1,000-meter test. That’s going to kill me. Plus a huge pile of laundry. Aargh!
