Apple officially announced today that after July 31, all paid games without a Chinese publishing license will be removed from the mainland China App Store. In the early hours of July 8, Apple emailed Chinese game developers requiring paid games and games with in-app purchases to submit their license number before July 31 or be taken down. There are nearly 170,000 game products on iOS right now, but fewer than 20% hold a license — meaning over 50,000 games could face removal.
